KLAY Prep Schools and Daycare, a pioneering preschool and daycare chain and also the country’s largest Corporate Daycare provider, conducted Bengaluru’s first dedicated children’s literature festival: Kaleido. The event was held at the Taj West End, Bengaluru and saw in attendance many notable authors and speakers.
Distinguished authors that attended Kaleido this year included Ramgopal Vallath, Aparna Raman and Shobha Viswanath the founder of Karadi Tales. Also conducted were engaging panel discussions with the likes of Arthy Muthanna Singh, the editor of Linda book of records and Peggy Sood, among many others. The topics of these discussions covered aspects such as “inculcating reading habits”, and “digitization of reading”. The day’s highlights were the sessions with young authors Yamini Prashanth and Gauri Jhangiani and “A Visit into Outer Space” a talk by Ret. Air Cdre. Ravish Malhotra, part of India’s first space mission and back up to Rakesh Sharma- The first Indian to enter outer space.
Some of the activities conducted for the Children and parents were a meet and greet with their favourite writers, discussions, live readings and workshops.
Speaking at the event, Priya Krishnan, CEO, KLAY, said, “At KLAY, we are constantly striving towards improving the quality of childcare and upbringing. With the same objective in mind, we presented Kaleido as it will help create a culture around children literature which should help affect positive changes in our society.”
The lit fest had a special line up of events with renowned authors and educators. It was an opportunity for children and parents alike to meet their favourite writers, attend discussions, listen to readings, participate in workshops and much more.
